Just to Keep You Satisfied

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Just to Keep You Satisfied" was a popular recording for soul music legend Marvin Gaye.

Although never released as a single from his Let's Get It On album, it became a popular song for Gaye fans and fans of soul music. Originally penned by Gaye as a song about a husband's devotion to his wife, Gaye produced versions with The Monitors and The Originals, who later supplied background vocals for Gaye's version. Gaye, in the final stages of marriage, rewrote the somber and autobiographical song ironically with his then-wife Anna Gordy Gaye and Elgie Stover. The song was revived more than 25 years later in the film Baby Boy, covered by Kenny Lattimore on the Gaye tribute album, Marvin Is 60, and was even sampled on Mary J. Blige's single, "When We", from her Love & Life album.
