Jūrōmaru (獣郎丸, じゅう ろう まる, "beast man") is a character in the manga and anime series InuYasha, the brother of Kagerōmaru. A yōkai (demon), he is Naraku's fifth detachment.
[edit] History
When introduced, he is wearing chains and a metal mask, both of which are meant to restrain his murderous nature and to contain Kagerōmaru. When the two are first "born", one of them instantly decapitates Naraku and two guards who enter the room. Naraku, unfazed by the attack, threatens to destroy his heart if he should ever act out of line again. This is most likely what convinced Naraku to attach the bonds to Jūrōmaru.
Later, Naraku sends Jūrōmaru and a yōkai puppet to meet InuYasha's group. After a period of fighting with the chains and mask on, Naraku removes them so Jūrōmaru can fight with his full strength. However, once he is released, he kills Naraku's puppet before attacking InuYasha. During the fight it is discovered that Kagerōmaru resides in Jūrōmaru's stomach and was released after the mask was removed. Jūrōmaru has little intelligence, so he only obeys Kagerōmaru (who is revealed to really be the one who attacked Naraku in the beginning).
Both Jūrōmaru and Kagerōmaru are eventually killed after InuYasha and Koga inadvertedly work together to fight the deadly duo.
Jūrōmaru never talks; he only makes breathing noises. Kagerōmaru does the talking.
[edit] Abilities
- Super speed — Like his brother, Jūrōmaru is very fast, so even Kōga has a hard time keeping up with him.
- Claws — Jūrōmaru can also use an attack similar to InuYasha's Sankon Tessō.
