Jung-Hoon Chun

Jung-Hoon Chun is co-director of the Manufacturing Institute and associated with the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has been a MIT Mechanical Engineering faculty since 1989. His research focuses on the development of Innovative Manufacturing Processes. His research areas include droplet-based manufacturing processes, solidification front imaging in metal casting using high-energy x-ray tomography, and chemical-mechanical polishing. His teaching focuses on manufacturing and on management in engineering. He is an active participant in the Singapore-MIT Alliance program and has recently been involved in a nano-scale manufacturing iniative. Dr. Chun received a B.S. from Seoul National University, an M.A.Sc. from the University of Ottawa, and a Ph.D. from MIT, all in mechanical engineering.
