Julius Ogunro

Julius Ogunro (b. July 8, 1976), renowned Nigerian journalist, is a winner of one of the most prestigious prizes in Nigerian jounalism - The Best Environmental Reporter 2005 at the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence, DAME. Ogunro graduated best of his faculty with a second class upper degree in Mass Communication in 2001 from Delta State University, Abraka.He was a recipient of both the HOD'S and Dean's Prizes for best graduating student.

He did his compulsory National Youth Service Corps in Kebbi State, Nigeria where he was the editor of the corps magazine, Kebbi Kopa. After the NYSC, he worked with INSIDER WEEKLY Magazine for over two years before moving to NATIONAL STANDARD, another prominent magazine in Nigeria.

Ogunro is currently (2006) pursuing a master's degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. The 18th in a family of 22 children, his favourite meal is eba and egusi soup, while his interests include reading, writing and football.
