Julio Politi was born October 4th 1960 in Tucúman, Argentina. He played basketball professionally at the age of 16 in Buenos Aires and was part of the bronze medal winning Argentinian team of the 1979 Under 19 World Championships.

Moving to England in 1982 he played for Camden in 1983, he then moved around several clubs in the London area. Honours include 1987 Wembley MVP and 1989 All-Star team selection.
