Julia Savicheva

Julia Savicheva (Russian: Юлия Савичева) (born on February 14, 1987) is a Russian singer that performed for Russia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Yulia was born on February 14th, to a family of musicians in a small town in Zauralye. Yulia's family has been influenced by music since her early days of life. Frequent visitors of her parents included several Russian song writers and music producers. Yulia's father, an avid piano player, would compose songs for Yulia to sing. This was the beginning of Yulia's career as a star.

Her first performance took place on a large stage with a group called "Agatha Christie". This was a small test of Yulia's full abilities for her parents. After several dancing improvisations from Yulia, there was a 30 second silence followed by a standing ovation. One year later when Yulia was six, her father was offered a job in Moscow. This is when Yulia's career started to become serious. Her father enrolled her in many rehearsal programs and musical activities in the recreation centers of MAI. Yulia's mother got a job at the recreation center as a manager for the children's talent department.

All of Yulia's free time was spent with musicians, in the recreation center or in the theater. Yulia's career took off slowly. Her first major appearance was a lead role in the New Years performance of the recreation center, for which Yulia had to learn ballroom dancing. Later she would go to record back-vocals for Russian artist "Linda". In March 2003, Fabrika Zvezd (Star Factory) started its 2nd season. The producer of the project Maxim Fadeev had already crossed Yulia's path once before when she worked on Linda's album. Yulia participated on Fabrika Zvezd, but only reached the semi-finals before she was eliminated.

Despite this loss at the Star Factory, Yulia's solo career has outstripped any Fabrika Zvezd winner in history. Yulia's career has progressed dramatically in Russia, where she has been invited back to Fabrika Zvezda to host rather than compete. Yulia's music is widely popular in Russia and hits include "Korabli" (Ships), "Vysoko" (High) and "Prosti Za Lyubov" (Sorry for Loving). Yulia has released four albums, one being a duet album featuring the songs from her first album, and the third being a live album.

In late 2006 her song Esli V Serdce Zyvet Ljubov from her album Magnet (Магнит) made it to number 1 on the Ukraine Top 40 charts.
