Julia Kapatelis

Julia Deneiros Kapatelis is a fictional character from Wonder Woman comic series.

She was born in Cefalonia, Greece to Agostos and Maria Deneiros, she is a history teacher at Harvard University and the first non-Amazon woman that Diana aka Wonder Woman ever meets. Julia took Diana into her home and family when she first arrived in the United States. Diana made her touch Harmony's talisman and part of the woman's past ran through Diana's memory. After her daughter, Vanessa Kapatelis was attacked by Decay, Julia made Diana's fight her own and helped her battles with Ares.

When Diana decided to become ambassador of Themyscira in the section of the world with a tradition of Patriarchy, Julia became a sort of foster mother for the woman. Eventually, during a visit to Themyscira, Julia would discover that she had been rescued from drowning by the Amazon, Pythia, and that they had blessed her with Amazon Inspiration, granting her great wisdom and strength of spirit, which is apparently a hereditary gift. Julia is considered an Amazon, because of this. Probably, that is why Diana felt such a close bond to her at first. Julia lost her brother, Peter Deneiros, during the war when she was very young and her father after that. Later, she married David Kapatelis but lost her husband after 22 years.
