Judy Shalom Nir-Mozes

Judy Shalom Nir-Mozes is a heiress to the Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot and is also renowned as the wife of the Israeli politician Silvan Shalom. Within Israel, she is a well-known socialite and talk show host.

She appeared in the news in April 2005 for presenting Prince Charles a gold talisman from Yitzchak Kaduri as a wedding present for his upcoming marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, saying that she had presented a similar talisman to President Bill Clinton during his time in office and that it had helped him with a his difficult political situation. Later, on Israel Army Radio, she referred to the event with the following statement, "Prince Charles was very charming about it, not at all the drip that Israelis assume he is."

In May 2005, she was involved in a scandal, along with her husband, Israeli ambassador to Washington, Danny Ayalon and his wife, Ann Ayalon. It is alleged that she was responsible for an article in Yediot Aharonot that suggested that the Ambassador's wife was inappropriately spending funds on personal travel and renovations to her home. In addition to trying to discredit Ayalon, the diplomat charged that she was trying to get his personal secretary fired for failing to arrange a meeting between Madonna and Judy while Madonna was attending a Kabala conference.
