Juan Fernando Fonseca

Juan Fernando Fonseca, better known as Fonseca, is a colombian singer who was born in May 29, 1979 in Bogotá.

He debuted in 2002 with his first CD, named after himself, which was popular in his home country. It included hits as "Magangue", "Confiésame" and "Noche de Carnaval." His second and current CD was released in 2005 under EMI Capitol. It is titled "Corazón" and includes hits such as "Te Mando Flores", "Hace Tiempo", "Lagartija Azul" and "Mercedes." Since then he has become a phenomenon in Colombia, achieving double platinum for its sales in 2005.

Fonseca won a Latin Grammy for his hit song "Te Mando Flores" in 2006 and an MTV Latin America Tongue award for his video "Como me Mira" in the same year.

Influenced heavily by Carlos Vives, his style is a blend of traditional Colombian music, such as Vallenato, with some other Latin artist's traits.
