[edit] Of Last Warnings and Sock Puppetry

As of August 16th, the user known as "Alienus" (aka AI, responsible for most of the complaints below) was banned from posting for a year for making personal attacks, and is the suspected owner of a ban-evading sock puppet account.

[edit] NPA/CIVIL

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.

I removed the following comment you made on Objectivism (Ayn Rand):

Quit trolling, will you? JToH 01:24, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

This is clearly a personal attack, particularly since it was in response to a comment made weeks ago. Please focus on the issues, not the personalities. Al 00:31, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Puppet

Your very first edit (and so far only) under this account was quite suspicious for new-comer. What names and IP's have you edited under before? Al 00:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More NPA.

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you.

Your second edit was also a personal attack.

Oh look, another troll. -- JToH 01:44, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Please stop attacking. Al 01:50, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Even more NPA

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. And whining about censorship is the classic sign of the internet troll. -- JToH 02:25, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

So far, all of your edits have been personal attacks. Also, you show strong signs of being a sock puppet. Please stop. Al 01:52, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] More insults and a lie

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks, you may be blocked for disruption.

No sock puppet, Gagnon. Quit deleting things you don't like and stop trolling. -- JToH 02:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

So far, you have done nothing but attack. This is your last warning. If you continue to attack after this has been posted, you will be eligible for a block, which will affect your sockmaster account as well as this one. Al 01:54, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Your posts were deliberate flame bait, intended not to bring anything new or useful to the discussion, but to antagonise. That makes you a troll.

Coming from a neutral 3rd party...

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks, you may be blocked for disruption. Paul Cyr 07:42, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Looking at your profile, I'd say your neutrality is questionable. JToH 09:36, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Care to explain? Paul Cyr 09:15, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
-You immediately being with the phrase "Coming from a neutral 3rd party..." instead of just making your point, which suggests that it is anything but.
-You have links to a social democrat party and therefore share a similar ideology to those complaining the loudest, particularly "Alienus" and "LGagnon".
-The aformentioned individuals have accused me of being a sock puppet without adequate proof. This is trolling, which you appear to have ignored. This I find suspicious and this doesn't suggest a neutral viewpoint. JToH 14:40, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I made the neutrality comment because you accused the last person of bias. I have no links to any political parties (that very comment could be considered a personal attack) and even if I did it, my affiliations have no bearing on your inappropriate conduct. I don't care what other people said to you, "but they did it to!" is not a valid defense. Whether or not you think someone is biased against you is no excuse for your actions. Let me make that clear as I can: it doesn't matter what other people's viewpoints are, if you continue to make personal attacks, you will be blocked from editing. Kapeesh? Paul Cyr 23:19, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
You lie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Paul_Cyr "This user supports the Liberal Party of Canada". Yes, your affilations do have a bearing on your judgement, as bias is inevitable when it comes to subjects of a political nature. This isn't a flame war; I was pointing out an obvious instance of trolling, which in itself is not a personal attack if it is true. If I come across any futher evidence that suggests you might be a shill, you too will be reported. JToH 08:43, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
To get down to the nitty gritty of it, everyone is inherently biased. However, accusing me of having bias that compromises my jugdement is a personal attack. How bout you look at your actions instead of trying to push the attention to someone else. Before you even mentioned bias I hadn't even noticed what subject the arguement was about. Paul Cyr 18:24, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removing Warnings

Please do not remove legitimate warnings from your talk page or replace them with inappropriate content. Removing or maliciously altering warnings from your talk page will not remove them from the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted legitimate comments. If you continue to remove or vandalize legitimate warnings from your talk page, you will lose your privilege of editing your talk page. Thanks. Paul Cyr 20:12, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I didn't remove any legitimate warnings. I have removed spam and false accusations of sock puppetry from a user who has since been barred from posting (ironically, for making personal attacks and being a sock puppet). In addition, these "warnings" are four months old and I would have been banned by now had I genuinely been a sock puppet (if you have evidence to the contrary, then present it). I am fully aware that altering this page doesn't remove the history, in which case there is already a "link" (the one at the top marked 'history'). I have re-inserted the accurate summary of Alienus's fate, knowledge of which I genuinely believe to be in the interest of anyone who reads this page.User:JToH 10:31, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
