[edit] Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia, JQF! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! Here, however, are a few links to get you started:

There are lots of policies and guidelines to get to grips with but they all make your life easier and your stay more fun in the long run. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or add {{helpme}} to your userpage - someone will come very, very quickly to your aid. Please be sure to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? ;)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a great time, all the best, sayonara and good luck! --Celestianpower hab 23:00, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome!

Big shiny welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the Firefly WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Firefly's coverage of topics.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Starting some new articles? Our style guidelines outline some things to include.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every Firefly article in Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow Browncoat, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Keep flyin'plange 01:12, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Game Templates

Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Computer and video games

rv, you keep changing the template to standards that haven’t been finalized yet, you're jumping the gun

rv, again, changes weren't brought up on talk page like required, plus it doesn't follow {{Navbox generic}} standards, which is norm for these navboxes

[edit] Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Just as a heads up: the villain list is getting insanely too big. The "dark" versions of characters are only used in training missions, which in my opinion isn't notable enough to be listed. I've posted a section on the talk page about this, but I doubt it will get many responses. It seems like most of the people that edit the page, don't check the talk page alot. [edit] Re: Mathbot missing importance

There is a bit of a bug with Mathbot. Whenever it does quality stats boxes, like Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Canada-related articles by quality statistics, it doesn't link to the importance categories, and will infact remove the links if they have been added when it updates, like here. Just wanted to let you know so you can improve the bot. JQFTalkContribs 15:33, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I fixed that. The stats will have those links when the bot runs tonight. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 22:08, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Paranormal

Hi! I'm the maintainer of wikiproject paranormal. Just so you know, in the future, it's not considered polite at all to modify another project's templates without discussion and their consent, as you have done with ours. Thus far, the agreement within the project is that we don't want an 'importance' system right now, so I'd prefer if the template reflected that until sentiment changes. --InShaneee 02:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know. I just though you guys weren't aware of the importance scale. To make sure other people don't make the same mistake, you might want to put up a bit saying that you don't use it, and why. JQFTalkContribs 20:12, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for adding the Wikilink to my userbox. I didn't know if I could do that or not, so I just left it bold. First one I had done...with more to come :o) - Rock on...SVRTVDude 00:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Pokewii.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Pokewii.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] You may wish to check out {{tlu}}.

Please check out the changes I made at Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes -- 02:44, February 17, 2007. You used {{tl}} for templates in your user space. However, you wanted {{tlu}}. Same thing, but different namespace. Will (Talk - contribs) 08:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I fixed your user boxes

You had many user boxes that were not displaying properly because they were moved per WP:UM. Please verify I got the correct boxes. I doubt what you had was what you wanted. So this version is almost certainly an improvement. Will (Talk - contribs) 03:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I hadn't been aware of a major userbox migration. Everything seems to be fine. JQFTalkContribs 13:55, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Good. Thanks for double checking. Will (Talk - contribs) 02:03, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Centralized video game navbox discussion

You previously expressed a strongly-stated opinion about a video game navbox or all video game navboxes in general, or perhaps I clicked on your talk page by mistake. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:PleaseThinkOfTheCatgirls.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:PleaseThinkOfTheCatgirls.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Comanche

With regard to your edit of 21 March, I am not sure that pushing the TOC off of the first screen of the Comanche article is necessarily a good thing. It might be better instead to move, or delete, the map on the left hand side. What do you think? --Bejnar 22:25, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, with an article that long and with that many sections, something needs to be done with the TOC, although the image may have confused what needed to be done. I'd say that the image should be moved, as it still has purpose, but doesn't appear to be in the right section. JQFTalkContribs 22:40, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
I've moved some stuff around. How does it look? JQFTalkContribs 22:57, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
It looks ever so much better. Thanks. --Bejnar 23:07, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
