JP1 remote

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JP1 is a type of common interface which connects many types of universal remote control to a personal computer for reprogramming. The unofficial specification was developed by remote manufacturer UEI, which builds controls for many other companies, and has been widely exploited to give high-end features to low-cost remotes. Compatible models include One For All, Radio Shack, Scientific Atlanta, Sony, and ReplayTV. The interface was named by the labeled connector found inside the battery compartments of these remotes.
