Jozef Cardinal Tomko

Jozef Cardinal Tomko (born 11 March 1924, Udavské , near Humenné, Slovakia) is Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
Life:
- 12 March 1949 obtained priest in Roma, Italy
- 12 July 1979 appointed archbishop
- 25 May 1985 appointed Cardinal
- 9 April 2001 retired
He is currently Cardinal Priest of the Title of Santa Sabina.
