Joyce Cheng Yan-yee (Traditional Chinese: 鄭欣宜; Simplified Chinese: 郑欣宜; pinyin: Zhèng Xīnyí, born on May 30, 1987) is the daughter of famous Hong Kong television stars Adam Cheng Siu-chow and Lydia Shum Din-ha.

For most of her childhood, she has gained huge media exposure due to her mother, who was a prominent actress and comedian of the 1980s and 1990s. Despite being overweight, Cheng has showed interest in the show business during her teenage years. When she was 15, with the help of Lydia's connections in the show business, she performed Britney Spears' Oops!... I did it again, in a Hong Kong charity TV program. However, the show was widely criticised and was labelled as "one of the most hilarious incidents of the year". Perhaps because she pursued her study in Canada for a long period of time, some of her behaviors might not be acceptable by Chinese community. For example, some HK magazines reporters had occasionally taken some photos about her smoking under 18, and had found some of her flirting sticky photos, which were then published in the magazines. These had further worsened her public image.

Determined to overcome her weight problem, Cheng started a strict fitness regime where for up to ten hours a day she was in a vibration body-chamber that effectively "burned" the fat off of her body through moving her from side to side.

On 11th September 2005, Cheng played the part of Snow White in the Hong Kong Disneyland Opening Ceremony. After the show, the Hong Kong Broadcasting Authority received a 361 complaints on Joyce's performance. The complaints were issued after some teenagers discussed their thoughts on the performance in various internet forums. When they realised that they all thought the same of the performance they decided to issue complaints together. Most of the complaints described her performance as 'disgusting', 'badly affecting the minors, hence parental guidance should be advised before the show' etc. The complaints were later determined to be intended as pranks; many celebrities, particularly those who are friends with Cheng's mother, have publically criticised the incidents.

She had also come under attack from fellow entertainers alike for playing Snow White and pecking singer Ron Ng Cheuk-hei on the cheek. Her mother explains that this was merely an act of greeting and very common in the west, where Cheng had grown up. Despite the explanation, the term "Kiss of Death" is still widely used to describe the above mentioned incident.

Cheng spent much of her childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she attended Crofton House School, as well as flying frequently back to Hong Kong. She has postponed her education at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada for one year, because she has decided to pursue a musical/acting career in Hong Kong. Her first debut album, which was produced by Liu Jia Chang, is planned to be released by mid-2007.

On October 6 2006, which is Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, Cheng had her first music video Kao Zi Ji (literally Depend on Myself) first aired in a TVB prime time show called Scoop at 7:30pm. After that, the Hong Kong Broadcasting Authority has again received at least 19 complaints on the offensive content of the music video. Some complaints suggested that the music video should be broadcasted after 11:00pm with a rating of "Parental Guidance".
