Jovita (Córdoba)

Jovita is a town located south of the Province of Córdoba, in Argentinean Republic.
According to 1993's census, it has 3,800 inhabitants, actual stimations elevate that number to 5500 souls.
Situated in the middle of the Humid Pampa region or Pampa's Plain, has a main economical activity of cattle farming and agriculture, specially with soya, sunflower, corn and wheat among others.
Was founded in 1905 and its blueprints were made and approved on May 15th, 1907 and October 28th, 1907 respectibly. The lands were donated for two sisters: Magdalena and Jovita from whom its name came from. Was named originally as Pichi Tromen Station "El Juncalito" until 1906 and then it grows as Santa Magdalena and Jovita Station up to 1983 when according to resolution N°322/83 was finally named Jovita.

Situated at an altitude of 153,5m over the sea level, latitude 34°31' south, longitude 64°56'40" west. Ubicada en la nueva línea de frontera entre los fortines conocidos como Orma y Ortega.
Is 592km away from Buenos Aires, capital of the nation and 425km from Córdoba, capital of the province with the same name. In his neiborhoods we can find the Río Quinto (lately named by the aborigens as Popopis] at just 5km.
