[edit] Welcome from Redwolf24
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

[edit] An Invitation
Hello Joshua,
Since you're interested in sumo, here's an invitation to visit Wikipedia:Japanese Wikipedians' notice board. There, you can meet other Wikipedians of all nationalities working on articles related to Japan. Some people specialize in one field, while others take a broader view. You'll also find lists of new articles, projects, and resources such as Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles). Hope to see you there!
Best regards, Fg2 07:15, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Kotooshu.jpg
Hi Joshua, What's the license of this picture? --Kükator 12:52, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. I was asking because I thought about using it in the german wikipedia, but I guess I won't because copyright issues are handled very strictly over there. --Kükator 08:15, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Sumo-fusensho.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sumo-fusensho.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Carnildo or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you.
