[edit] Note from a Josephinum Alumnus

I created this article when I did some research on the origin of the Roman Catholic seminary, the Pontifical College Josephinum institution (PCJ) for an expanded article on PCJ.

When I attended PCJ in the early 70s I knew only a smattering of information on the school and its founder. With the internet, it is possible to fill in a lot of gaps.

In order to get more information when I worked on this article on Joseph Jessing, the founder of the Josephinum, I utilized State of Ohio "Ohio Memory" archives, and I was really amazed at what this immigrant from Germany had accomplished. From childhood to his service in the Prussian army to his life in the US - truly amazing but little appreciated accomplishments for one man. Wanted to share his story - It needs a wider audience.

After leaving PCJ, I finished my studies at Michigan State University, and became a US Marine Officer active and reserve for over 20 years. Hence a better appreciation of Jessing's years as a soldier in that institution of "blood and iron," the Prussian Army.

I'm looking for an out-of-copyright black and white photo of the PCJ. SimonATL 23:35, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
