I wonder about the link to Burgermiester - is this an english spelling of the german word "Bürgermeister"? Or a typo which should have been "burgermeister" - just omitting the umlaut? andy 09:07, 17 Oct 2003 (UTC)
Burgermiester is clearly wrong. Burgermeister is acceptable as an English spelling.
But I am uneasy about putting a plural -s to the word. (In German, Bürgermeister is unchanged in the plural.)

Bürgermeister is in English texts often rendered as burgomaster. I am changing accordingly.

Fixed the wilde Sau and zahme Sau spellings (where did samte Sau come from?) -CyRo
His place of birth is "Burgkirchen an der Alz". The Alz ist a little River in Bavaria. "an der" is in German a therm to difference Towns or Villages with the same name.
