Can some one please clean up this page!?! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.143.158.166 (talk • contribs).
[edit] Basis
Rearranged the page so that Tony Montana is based on Jose Battle, and not the other way around. DannyBoy2k 10:46, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Um, I'm a good friend of Alex Batlle, grandson of Jose (they changed the family name back to it's original spelling in the 90s), and from what I know, Scarface had NOTHING to do with Jose Miguel Battle. Please cite a source because I'm calling BS. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.32.19.79 (talk • contribs).

- I believe that Tony Montana's character was based on the main character, Tony Camonte, of the original Scarface (1932 film) who was based on Al Capone. However, is certianly isn't out of the question that parts of Battle's life might have been adapted to the 1984 version. MadMax 02:51, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Um, as said...first, I merely rearranged the paged, like I said. I didn't write it. Second, while I admit I know nothing more than what I've read in the page...an exile Cuban in Miami who created a large-sized criminal organization...? Sounds like something easily converted into Tony. Especially since the 1932 movie and the 1983 one has little but the name in common. DannyBoy2k 23:25, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

- I don't see the similarities apart from both being Cuban. One is a gambling ring based out of New Jersey, while the other is a drug dealer in Miami.
My name is Miguel Batlle. I am wondering if the original surname of Jose was Batlle instead of Battle.
-
- Yes, and they've since changed their name back to Batlle.
