Joshua Cohen (philosopher)

Joshua Cohen is a political philosopher and Professor at Stanford University where he holds appointsments in the department of political science, the school of law, and the department of philosophy. At Stanford, Cohen is the head of the new center for global justice. Much of his work concerns philosophy of law, political philosophy, democratic theory, especially deliberative democracy, and global justice. Previously a professor of political science and philosophy at MIT, he was educated at Yale University and Harvard University, where he earned his PhD under the direction of John Rawls.

He is also co-editor of the Boston Review as well as of many short anthologies based on articles first published in the Boston Review.
