Josephine Alhanko

Josephine Alhanko, (born 24 April 1981, in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish actress and current Miss Sweden titleholder.

Alhanko became Sweden's 28th semifinalist at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant, held on July 23 in Los Angeles, California. She is the first Miss Sweden to place in 9 years and beat favourites such as Erin McNaught of Australia.

Josephine has two master's degrees and is an educated actress and art historian. She has acted in various TV-productions, movies and plays. She was also a student in the English National Ballet School (1997-98). Josephine won the title Miss Sweden 2006 on 30 March after a hard recruitment process. The judges described her as professional, humble and sympathetic.

Josephine is the niece of Anneli Alhanko, Swedish ballet dancer at the Royal Ballet Theatre in Stockholm.

On April 20, 2007, Josephine will crown the new Miss Sweden.

Josephine has also been interviewed by American TV channel ABC News for a television special and she is also interviewed for an article. In the television special she is described as a "new kind" of beauty pageant winner.
