In 1979 he did a diploma course at the College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis at the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute in Lonavla, Maharashtra. He followed this with a diploma of Naturopathy at the Bharatiya Nature Cure College in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and a B.A at Lucknow University.

He received an M.A. in Philosophy and Psychology from the Rohilkhand University in Bareilly, and later a Ph.D. from the same University. His published thesis was on "The Concept of personality in Sri Aurobindo's integral yoga psychology and A.Maslow's Humanistic/Transpersonal Psychology", a comparison of the psychological and spiritual insights of Sri Aurobindo's integral yoga and Abraham Maslow's Humanistic and Transpersonal psychology.

During his research work in comparative Eastern and Western psychology Dr Vrinte stayed for six years at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. He has also worked at various times since the 1980s as a mental health worker in various mental health institutions and a clinic for drug-addicts in Amsterdam.

Vrinte's most recent and major work, "The Perennial Quest for a Psychology with a Soul: An inquiry into the relevance of Sri Aurobindo's metaphysical yoga psychology in the context of Ken Wilber's integral psychology". This book, based primarily on observation and analysis of his personal perceptions and inner experiences while living in Auroville, provides a sympathetic and unbiased comparative account of both Sri Aurobindo's and Ken Wilber's integral thought, without making claims concerning "essential" differences and "ultimate" identities.

He is currently living in Auroville.
