Joseph Kabui

Joseph C. Kabui is a seccesionist leader of the island of Bougainville, off the coast of Papua New Guinea. In June of 2005 he was elected president of Bougainville by an overwhelming majority, giving the island more autonomy within Papua New Guinea. A referendum on independence is set to be held sometime in the 2010s.
