Josep Maria Vallès (b. in Barcelona. 1940) is married and he has two children.

He studied Law (UB), Political Science (IEP, in Paris) and Business Management (ESADE, Barcelona). He is also lecturer in Political Science and Administration (UAB). In this university, he also was the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology, where he was also Rector.

His political activity started in 1999 as a member and President of the association Ciutadans pel Canvi (CpC, Citizens for Change), which formed part of the electoral coalition PSC-CpC.

Josep Maria Vallès is member of this coalition for the constituency of Barcelona.

He is a member of the College of Advocates of Barcelona and of the Spanish Association of Political Science and Administration, of which he has been President since 2001.
