Josef Boumedienne (born January 12, 1978 in Stockholm) is a Swedish professional hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the National Hockey League's Washington Capitals. He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Fourth Round, Ninety-first Overall. He has played for the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils.
Since fall 2004 Boumedienne has also Finnish nationality.
Boumedienne's father is Algerian; he shares his surname with former Algerian president Houari Boumedienne.
