Jose T. Peralta, who won the Palanca Awards in Literature ten times (playwrighting) is also a painter, and a graphic artist, aside from being a poet, essayist and playwright. He graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas with a degree in Philosophy, University of California with a Doctorate on Philosophy in Anthropology, and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines.
