José Pablo Fonseca (born November 25, 1973) is a Costa Rican football player, who currently plays winger for Deportivo Saprissa of the Costa Rican first division. Fonseca has played almost his entire career for Saprissa, where he debuted at the young age of 18 years old. He was also a top defender for the Costa Rica national football team during the mid 90's, and played for other Costa Rican teams such as A.D. Belén, Municipal Liberia and C.S. Cartaginés, only to return to Saprissa three years ago when asked by now coach Hernan Medford

With Saprissa, he has won five national championships and three CONCACAF Champions' Cup, and was part of the team that played the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship Toyota Cup, where Saprissa finished third behind São Paulo Futebol Clube and Liverpool F.C. That makes him one of the most title-winning soccer players in Costa Rica's and Saprissa's history.
