José Miguel O. de Simões Aguiar or commonly known as Miguelito a name that friends would call him as a child. Miguelito was born in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal on February 4, 1981. He currently plays for SL Benfica signed from Portuguese Liga club CD Nacional in August of 2006.

While at Rio Ave, Miguelito was just a Child playing for their youth team where after years of work he broke into the first team. He was a fan favourite for his fast counterattacks which would leed to spectacular crosses and goals.

While at CD Nacional many consider the Portuguese left-back and Winger one of the teams best. Miguelito joined their club in 2005.

On August 22, 2006, Miguelito joined SL Benfica despite having offers from Boavista FC and Celtic FC.
