José Carlos Pace (born October 6, 1944 in São Paulo - died March 18, 1977 near São Paulo) was a Formula One driver from Brazil. He participated in 73 grands prix, debuting on March 4, 1972. He won one race, achieved six podiums, and scored a total of 58 championship points. He also secured one pole position. He was killed in a light aircraft accident in early 1977. The track which currently hosts the Brazilian Grand Prix annually now, as a tribute to him, bears his name, Autódromo José Carlos Pace. Pace is buried in Cemitério do Araça, São Paulo.
