From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc., (commonly pronounced "Joseph A. Bank's"), is a men's clothing designer and retailer founded in 1905 and headquartered in Hampstead, Maryland. As of December 2006, it has 371 retail locations[1] in the United States, in 42 states and the District of Columbia. The exact name of the company as specified in its corporate charter is, in fact, JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc.[2] including the unusual abbreviation of the name Joseph with the S capitalized.
Its clothing products, which bear the company's label, are targeted at affluent male professionals and come in three lines: the basic Jos. A. Bank collection, the midrange Signature collection, and the top-of-the-line Signature Gold collection. There has also been a limited release of a Signature Platinum collection in a few stores. Its clothes, which include suits, shirts, ties, and sport coats, are manufactured by outside suppliers to company specifications.
Jos. A. Bank also provides tailoring services at many of its locations, and operates seven outlet stores, where it sells excess merchandise at reduced prices.
The company's common stock is listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "JOSB."
