[edit] Image Tagging Image:Shoepediarevised.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Shoepediarevised.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Nsevs 04:50, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

That's good for the decscription, now you should choose an image copyright tag to replace the {{nosource}} that's there now. If the creator released it to you for all purposes, you can use {{No rights reserved}}, but that will mean that anybody who comes on wikipedia can use it however they see fit. Maybe you want to use {{GFDL}} instead? Or any other from the copyright tags above. It's your choice. Once you've picked the license you want to use, go to the image page, click "edit this page" and replace the {{nosource blah blah blah}} that is there now. Let me know if you have more problems --Nsevs 02:40, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Yup, looks good. Thanks for helping out with that. --Nsevs 18:30, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] page deletion

It was deleted because it was tagged for deletion under Wikipedia's deletion policy. The page was determined to fail the criteria listed in WP:WEB for "notability" to be included in Wikipedia. The way it works is that an article is nominated for deletion for one of several reasons, Wikipedians vote as to whether the article should be kept or deleted, and after several days (usually five), the agreed-upon action is taken. You are of course welcome to re-create the article, but if it is found to have similar (or a different) problem, it might be re-nominated for deletion. Sorry this is so confusing. Please let me know if you have more questions. --Nsevs 07:24, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] link in adidas article

Please do not put your link back into this article. You are linking to your home page, which is wholly unrelated to the article. A direct link to the adidas article might be okay if your entry provides more or different information than the article in Wikipedia does. As it is now, this is just spam. Please read WP:EL for more information about our guide on external links. --WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 02:43, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] link and Copyright issues

That link would be better, but your site doesn't seem to meet the guidelines at WP:EL as it seems to consist mostly of text taken from Wikipedia. It is fine for you to copy our content verbatim, however, I’d like to point out that when you use content from Wikipedia you ought to include a link back to the source Wikipedia article as is suggested on Wikipedia’s copyrights page, which is located at Wikipedia:Copyrights. Additionally, you should also include a GFDL notice. One way of doing this would be to add the text "This article is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License, which means that you can copy and modify it as long as the entire work (including additions) remains under this license", and provide a link to http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html. Text such at "This page contains text from Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia" is a good way to acknowledge the general source of the text. Please add this attribution promptly.-WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 21:21, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Nike

Please don't use Wikipedia as an advertising tool. KILO-LIMA 21:41, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, what I meant to say was the talk: page for Nike. Your edit here was an advert for the encyclopedia of shoes. Wikipedia is not an advertising place. Please don't do it again. Thank you. KILO-LIMA 16:50, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
