Jorge Lorenzo (born 4 May 1987 in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands) is a Spanish motorcycle racer who currently runs in 250cc in the Motorcycle World Championship for the Fortuna Aprilia team. On his 15th birthday he became the youngest rider ever to compete in a grand prix on the second day of qualifying at Circuito Permante de Jerez on his professional debut in 2002. In 2006 he become the 2nd youngest World Champion in the 250cc Motorcycle World Championship.

  • He is youngest ever rider to start a race. He turned 15 on second qualifying day of 2002 Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez. Because of this he wasn't able to ride on Friday practice and qualifying.
  • Lorenzo is sponsored by Chupa Chups and because of that he has a lollipop every time when he is on the podium.
