Jorge Capitanich

Jorge Milton Capitanich (b. 28 November 1964) is an Argentinian Justicialist Party politician from Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Chaco Province, representing that Province in the Argentine Senate.

Capitanich descends from the first Montenegrins who settled in Chaco and created Colonia La Montenegrina, the biggest Montenegrin colony in South America. He was an academic before entering politics.

Capitanich was a government minister and became chief of cabinet to Eduardo Duhalde in 2002. He was elected senator for Chaco in 2001 and sits in the pro-President Kirchner Front for Victory block. In 2003 he stood to be governor of Chaco, but was defeated by Roy Nikisch of the Radical Civic Union.
