Sprocket Data, Inc is a privately owned company started in 1996 by Jeffrey Johnston as a Dallas based desktop PC support company. It as since grown to become one of the major players in the telecommunications community in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
The company began offering web design services in early 1999. The opening of a new data center quickly followed, allowing Sprocket Data to also offer web hosting services.
While no longer offering desktop support, the company incorporated in 2000 and continued to grow. Web and application development services began being offered in late 2002.
With the acquisition of Devlin and Associates, an online marketing company, in January of 2004 Sprocket Data had completed its rounding out. It now offered complete end-to-end online services.
Sprocket seperated into distinct divisions with Sprocket Solutions convering the design end of the business, Sprocket Networks handling the hosting duties, and SDISEO taking on the online marketing. All of the divisions are under the corporate umbrella of Sprocket Data, Inc
In 2004 Sprocket Data was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal on both its list of the "Top Ten Hosting" and "Top Ten Web Design" companies in Dallas where it has remained through 2006.
