I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
[edit] Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
Happy Wiki-ing. —Kf4bdy talk contribs

Thanks for uploading Image:Mohammed Atta wearing his Pashtan.jpg. [edit] Images
Greetings. I'm very interested in the 9/11 attacks, as I can see you are too. Unfortunately, many of the images you uploaded have no source information, or else have incorrect licensing information. I hope we can keep these images, but if you do nothing, then I'm afraid they'll have to be deleted. Please contact me with any information you have about where the images come from. All the best, – Quadell (talk) (random) 13:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- The aircraft images you uploaded are not suitable for Wikipedia because they are copyrighted and don't fall within fair use guidelines. On Wikipedia, we only use images with free licenses, such as those in the public domain (because they are works of the U.S. Federal government, were published prior to 1923 and their copyright has expired) or photographs taken by Wikipedia users who have uploaded them under terms of GFDL or other free licenses. In very limited cases, fair use of images is allowed. However, I don't think that's the case here. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding use of images on Wikipedia. Thanks. --Aude (talk) 20:45, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:KSM.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:KSM.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 10:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems
Please stop adding images to articles that have copyright problems. These images are clearly sourced from airliners.net. You can't tag these as public domain. I'm not sure if you are saying you are the creator of the images? You say you are creator (Mr. Reppucci) of Image:American Airlines 11 N334AA.jpg, and creator of Image:American Airlines 77 N644AA.jpg (Mr. Durbin)? And the image sources clearly state when these photos were taken. The issue of copyrights can be confusing, but please review the links listed above (Image use policy, Image copyright tags, Media copyright questions, etc.) to understand more about Wikipedia policies on copyrights. I would be happy to answer any questions about why an image can or can't be used on Wikipedia. And please hold off on uploading the images and adding them to articles, until the copyright problems are resolved. Thanks. --Aude (talk) 16:52, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello! Jonathan Ryan is not the appropriate place to post information about yourself, because it is in the part of Wikipedia where encyclopaedic articles are written. A "userpage" at User:Jonathan ryan, however, is available for personal information about yourself. When adding personal information please remember that Wikipedia is not myspace. Your userpage is for anything that is compatible with the Wikipedia project. It is a mistake to think of it as a homepage: Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. FreplySpang 19:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] image:John Ogonowski.jpg
Hi Jonathan. You uploaded the above image and claim to be the copyright holder releasing under the GFDL. This seems unlikely since the image was used in so many news stories (for instance [1]). Were you the original photographer or should this image actually be tagged copyright, fair use? Thanks -- Siobhan Hansa 22:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Mohammed Abu Abdullah Hamadiyah, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Steve (Slf67) talk 09:23, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mohammed Sidique Khan playing cards 1.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Mohammed Sidique Khan playing cards 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
