Joncourt is a French town near St. Quentin Canal which is best known for the battle that occurred there on October 1, 1918 during World War I. Described by the media at that time as "the Miracle of the War", the 46th (North Midland) Division broke through the Hindenburg Line near the town at the canal. Wilfred Owen got his Military Cross decoration for the battle at this town.
