Jonathan "Butch" Norton

Jonathan Norton, more commonly known as Butch, (born March 21, 1958) is a drummer/percussionist/vocalist who has recorded and toured with many different artists. He was the drummer for the band The Eels from 1996 through 2003. The artists he's worked with include: Lisa Germano, Tracy Chapman, Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, Michael Penn, and Aimee Mann.

Although the official Eels announcement of Butch's departure claimed that he was leaving the group to do studio drumming and play a string of concert dates with Tracy Chapman, in actuality he left the band due alleged financial disputes between himself and frontman E. He currently plays in the band Dreaming Ferns.
