Jonathan Hotchkiss

Jonathan Hotchkiss is the unseen father of fictional character Gwen Hotchkiss and former husband to Rebecca Hotchkiss on NBC's daytime drama Passions. Jonathan has yet to be seen on the show.

Rebecca and Jonathan married in the 1970's and had a daughter Gwen. Jonathan wanted a son and had no use for a daughter and made no secret of that fact. Jonathan eventually divorced his wife. It has been revealed on the show that he had set-up a Swiss bank account for Gwen in case of emergency.
Jonathan was left very wealthy after he divorced Rebecca, because she handed over her family fortune to him to get out of the marriage.

In the novel Hidden Passions Jonothan is portrayed as the nephew of an English earl who has squandered much of his money, and searches for a wealthy bride. He sets his sights on socilite Clarissa Morton but is ultimitly seduced by her friend Rebecca Osburn.
