Jon Woods

Jon Woods is an American politician, the Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from Springdale, Arkansas, and a banker.
He won the Republican Primary in May 2006, at the age of 28, and did not face an opponent in the November general election. He defeated school board member Kathy McFetridge, who ran for the same office as a Democrat in 1998, and college student Drew Griffin, who was forced from the race due to residency, with a campaign focused on improving education, addressing infrastructure needs, and protecting family values.
Woods became involved in community service as a member of the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, and currently serves as the Washington County, Arkansas, Membership Chairman. Woods is a graduate of the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. In 2006 Woods was named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list, which recognizes 40 intriguing business and political leaders under the age of 40.
