Jon Ryan (born November 26, 1981 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is an American football punter. He is currently the punter for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. He also played for the University of Regina Rams and for the Sheldon-Williams Spartans, a high school located in his hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan. In high school he played as running back, kicker, and punter.
In 2003 he led Canadian college punters with an average of 45.9 yards. The Blue Bombers selected Ryan in the third round (24th overall) of the 2004 CFL Canadian Draft. In 2004 he averaged 43.2 yards per punt and had a punt of 92 yards. In 2005, he set a CFL record by averaging 50.6 yards per punt. He also had the CFL's longest punt of 2005 (80 yards).
In January of 2006 he signed a contract with the NFL's Green Bay Packers. He is only the third Saskatchewan native to make it to the NFL (the other two being Arnie Weinmeister and Rueben Mayes).
