Jonathan ("Jon") Potter (born November 19, 1963) is a former field hockey player, who was a member of the golden winning British squad at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Four years earlier, at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he secured the bronze medal with his team.
During this time, Potter won 234 caps for Great Britain (126) and England (108), scoring 41 international goals. He competed in three Olympics and in three World Cups, winning a silver medal in London (1986), in three European Cups, winning silver in Moscow (1987) and bronze in Paris (1991). With GB he also captured two Champions Trophy medals – bronze in Karachi (1984) and silver in Perth (1985). With his club, Hounslow, he won the HA cup four times and League titles twice as well as leading them to European Cup Winners Cup victory in 1990. Potter retired from hockey in 1994. He is currently (2005) a boardmember of the English Hockey Federation.
