I'm a guy who has lived near Toronto, Ontario, Canada for 40 years. I am a buff, not a pro, on many hard science topics and enjoy science fiction topics for entertainment. As I have grown older, I have come to like the soft sciences as well. The NPOV of many soft science articles here on Wikipedia really adds credibility to them, IMHO.

I've tried to be honest and meaningful with the badges to the right. This means that although I know Visual Basic, I would go hungry before using it and have not listed it, or the other dozen things I don't want to do.
