Joint Offshore Protection Command (Australia)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Joint Offshore Protection Command (JOPC) is a multi-agency command which was established in 2005 to coordinate the protection of Australia’s offshore assets. The JOPC comprises elements of the Australian Customs Service and the Australian Defence Force and is headquartered in Canberra. While no ships or aircraft are permanently assigned to JOPC, ADF and Customs assets are assigned to the command for specific operations.
