[edit] The Unification Church's encyclopedia (aka, what would wikipedia be like if no one came?)
[ww.upfencyclopedia.org/preview/Category:Public List of 124 "sample articles". The two I checked were copied from wikipedia in early 2006 and have perhaps 50 edits each since then, by a few different editors. I looked at two bios (Hitchcock, Teddy Roosevelt), obviously not religious subjects. Strange, and worth, at some point, updating Encyclopedia Project. (August 8, 2006)
[edit] TCE
[2] Would like to add links to the main TCE article for those phyiscal sites (listed in article) that are polluted.
[edit] Luis Carlos Campos
Todm, the creator and essentially only contributor to this article, is interesting. The account was created on 10 February apparently to be able to create the article: [3] The article is about a Spanish journalist whose primary claim to fame appears to be that he has written a book predicting a global FREEZE (as opposed to a warming).
The only other edits by Todm were to Talk:Ananda Marga, in which the words "I am Spanish journalist and I practice marga meditation from more than 23 years ago" were changed to "I am practicing marga meditation from more than 23 years ago". This edit is problematical for one of two reasons:
- Todm changed the talk page posting of someone else, OR
- Todm is in fact the person who posted those remarks, and HE is a Spanish journalist
The second item raises the question of whether Todm is in fact Luis Carlos Campos.
The other major problem with the article (the first being that it is a vanity piece[4] [5] ) is that there appears (via google) to be NO articles in English on Luis Carlos Campos. That would appear to make it inappropriate for the English version of wikipedia.
Another data point: 203.54.171.214 02:12, 10 February 2006 (UTC) is the source cited for the article creation request [6]
One last puzzle: the article request was for "Luis Carlos Campos Nieto" but the actual article is on "Luis Carlos Campos" [apparently Nieto means "grandson", as in "III"]
[Sorry to place this comment here. I'm relatively new and I'm not sure where to post it. About this article, I'd just like to say a couple of things. This is indeed a a vanity piece written by the journalist himself. The article is practically the same copy used as his CV on the cover of his book. This is the link: http://www.arcopress.com/
About the surname, in Spanish speaking countries people usually use two surnames: one from their father and one from there mother. However, this is used on all offical documents, but authors sometimes use both and sometimes just the first one. Thus, "Nieto" is very likely to be part of his surname, and "Luis Carlos Campos Nieto" and "Luis Carlos Campos" the same person.
Hope you won't mind this intromission. user name: cerradura]

When I have more time (??), get out of library again, use to improve articles on historical events, 1980s and early 1990s, and biographies of Gorbachev, Reagan, Bush 41, etc.
