John Sotomayor (also known as John Sotomayor Jr.) was born on November 17th 1971 in Freehold, New Jersey. His parents, John A. Sotomayor and Zenaida M. Sotomayor, both currently reside in The United States. After graduating from East Brunswick High School in 1990, John attended Rider University where he graduated in 1994 with a degree in International Marketing.

He joined the world renowned retailer Nordstrom as they expanded throughout the northeast United States. John held several positions with Nordstrom in New Jersey and New York.

In 1997 John Sotomayor moved from White Plains New York to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. After working for several Dutch Retailers including Oger Fashion, Ralph Lauren and Maison de Bonneterie, John recently joined Zara the Spanish based retailer. Currently one of the managers at the Amsterdam store, John with be the Menswear Manager of the soon to open Zara store in Almere.
