Stating that former president Joaquin Balaguer is a bad writer is not a factual statement, is an expression of dislike, which is not in line with an encyclopedia. He was a prolific writer and had his following. He came from a literary tradition (that of Jose Enrique Rodo, Amado Nervo and others) which favored a flourished prose, much like the Victorian poets of the romantic period.
