[edit] Olympic Games Final date

In the article the tennis tournaments at the 1896 Summer Olympics took place between 8 and 11 April but in the "Profile of Boland" http://www.terracetalkireland.com/profiles/boland.htm, is written "on the morning of Wednesday, March 27, 1896, in a large marquee near the columns of the Temple Of Jupiter, John Pius Boland of Dublin and Ireland took the first step on the road that was to lead to sporting immortality ... the finals of the first Olympic Tennis Championship took place on Saturday, March 30th, 1896.

What are the right dates ?

Both, actually (oddly enough). The dates in April are according to the Gregorian calendar (new style, or NS), while the March dates are in the Julian calendar (old style, or OS). Wednesday, April 8 (NS) was the same day as Wednesday, March 27 (OS). I'll see if I can make that clearer in the text. -- Jonel | Speak 13:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
