I edited the article to reflect that York, South Carolina, is Spratt's hometown. There is nothing to suggest he lived anywhere else in York County. --Chuchunezumi 04:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I revised his basic biography to include committee assignments, a basic description of the district, and to follow format similar to other, more refined Congressional pages. I noticed that there is no article for the Assistant to the Democratic Leader, so I included the official description from the democratic party. Until a page is written for this office, is seems fitting to include the description in Spratt's biography. --Chuchunezumi 06:59, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I can find no place in which Rep. Spratt issues sweeping general pronouncements about same sex marriage, Iraq, or stem cell research. Regardless of the place of his beliefs in the spectrums of these issues, I think that it is irresponsible and an oversimplification to say simply "he opposes Embryonic stem cell research, same-sex marriage, supports the war in Iraq and overhauling the tax code." I think that this needs to be cited heavily to appear in this article, and so I am removing it, unless someone else has an argument. I will attempt to research these issues for a definate position, but voting records alone are not enough to prove that someone actually believes something. I think actual quotations from the media and/or speeches from the Congressional Record would be necessary to bolster these statements. --Chuchunezumi 09:14, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I would love to talk with anyone else interested in a collaborative project on York County. I will be revising and expanding all articles on the South Carolina legislative delegation, but I would love to find others to assist in focusing on York County specifically. Someone decided to change the article to say that Spratt had already lost the election. How brilliant and subtle. I reverted. Please note that I do patrol this page daily, and I won't hesitate to report someone for vandalism. --Chuchunezumi 06:23, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revert of 12/24

The section added fails the NPOV test being clearly biased. It isn't appropriate in that place in the article, and per Wikipedia policy, must be removed because it is unreferenced statements about a living person. Furthermore, it is inappropriate for an editor to remove statements that are clearly researched and cited and replace them with ones based on opinion and original research. This rating by the US Chamber of Commerce isn't accurate. Spratt received a 52% rating according to the reference, and there is no letter grade mentioned. Please stop adding things that are nonsequitur (the US CoC rating has nothing to do with the paragraph) and obviously attempting to insert bias into the article.
