Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium is a stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders. It is also home to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's State High School Football Championships. It opened in 1933 and holds 31,000 people.
Located on the northwest section of the campus, the stadium was originally known as Horace Jones Field when it opened on October 14, 1933 with a scoreless tie against Jacksonville State University. It was enlarged in 1948, 1960, 1968, and finally in 1997-98 to bring it from its original configuration of two sideline grandstands on either side of a track to its current configuration as an octagonal bowl with an expanded west (home) side, and a second deck along the north, northeast and east sides. (The upper deck is not connected to the west stands because the Murphy Athletic Center is located almost directly adjacent to the seating bowl at the northwest corner.) The field is artificial, replaced in 2006 with Sportexe PowerBlade artificial turf (the field last had natural grass in 1970). The stadium was renamed in 1968 in honor of Johnny "Red" Floyd, longtime football coach at the school.
