Johnny Osbourne was a popular Jamaican reggae singer in the 1970's and early 1980's. His 'Truths and Rights' album was a notable roots reggae success and featured the reggae classic 'Jah Promise'. However, he is probably best known for his mid 1980's dancehall reggae hit 'Water Pumping', and the endlessly recycled rhythm of that famous song.
